Mammoth repairs stained, soft, swollen, sagging, and damaged drywall after leaks or moisture issues have been addressed. The repair starts with the condition of the wall or ceiling so the damaged material can be removed and rebuilt properly.

Water-Damaged Drywall
A leak may be repaired quickly, but the drywall left behind can still be stained, soft, swollen, sagging, or structurally weakened. Paint alone will not correct material that has already been compromised.
Mammoth reviews the affected wall or ceiling to determine whether the drywall can be repaired locally or whether damaged sections should be removed and replaced.
The active moisture source should be corrected before drywall work begins so the repair is not placed back into the same unresolved condition.
Signs of Damage
The visible stain is not always the full extent of the problem. The surrounding material should also be checked before the repair scope is set.
Discoloration on a wall or ceiling can indicate a previous or active moisture issue and should be evaluated before repainting.
Drywall that feels soft, expanded, or deformed may need damaged material removed rather than simply patched over.
Moisture behind the finish can cause paint to lift, bubble, or separate from the drywall surface.
Ceiling drywall affected by moisture may lose strength and begin to sag, requiring closer inspection and possible replacement.
Moisture can loosen joint tape and affect finished seams around the damaged area.
Older repairs that remain stained, uneven, or soft can be reassessed to determine what needs to be redone.
How It Works
01
The active leak or moisture issue should be resolved before damaged drywall is repaired.
02
We review the wall or ceiling and determine which sections are still sound and which are compromised.
03
Damaged drywall is removed where needed and the affected section is patched or replaced.
04
The repair is finished and prepared for texture or painting when those services are part of the project.
Important Service Boundary
Mammoth repairs and replaces damaged drywall, but does not provide mold remediation. If mold is present or suspected, that issue should be handled by an appropriate remediation provider before affected drywall work is completed.
Once the moisture source and any required remediation have been addressed, Mammoth can work on the drywall, finishing, texture, and related painting scope.
Before drywall repair:
Fix the active water source first. Complete any required mold remediation separately.

After the Drywall Repair
Replacing damaged drywall is only one stage of restoring the surface. Joint finishing, texture matching, and paint may also be needed so the repaired area works with the surrounding wall or ceiling.
Those services can be included when they are part of the agreed project scope.
